چکیده
This study fabricated polylactic acid (PLA)/kenaf cellulose fiber biocomposite filaments via melt-extrusion process. Kenaf fibers (KF) were chemically extracted from locally grown kenaf plants and used as reinforcement. Moreover, the KF was then treated with tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS), so-called KFs, to improve compatibility between PLA matrix. Also, plasticizers (polyethylene glycol) incorporated enhance flowability processability of biocomposites. The melt viscosities biocomposites increased solid KFs loaded. However, they significantly decreased addition plasticizers. combined use TEOS treatment improved tensile strength, Young’s modulus elongation compared neat PLA. obtained PLA/KFs materials are proved be a mechanical-improved material that could offer opportunity for rapid production 3D fully degradable prototypes applications in sustainable textiles apparel, personalized prostheses some medical devices require high strength elongation.

Process Monitoring of Extrusion Based 3D Printing via Laser Scanning
Extrusion based 3D Printing (E3DP) is an Additive Manufacturing (AM) technique that extrudes thermoplastic polymer in order to build up components using a layerwise approach. Hereby, AM typically requires long production times in comparison to mass production processes such as Injection Molding. Failures during the AM process are often only noticed after build completion and frequently lead to ...

Various approaches have been adopted to address this including preparation of solid dispersions and solid solutions. Hot-melt extrusion is an efficient technology for producing solid molecular dispersions with considerable advantages over solvent-based processes such as spray drying and co-precipitation. Hot-melt extrusion has been demonstrated to provide sustained, modified, and targeted drug ...
